The German national basketball player Danilo Barthel leaves the Turkish champions Fenerbahce. This was announced by the Istanbul club on Twitter on Monday.
“We thank Danilo Barthel for his services to the Fenerbahce family and wish him every success in his new career,” the European top club wrote on the separation.
The 30-year-old Barthel played two seasons for the club and celebrated winning the Turkish championship this year after Fenerbahce beat Euroleague champions Anadolu Efes 3-1 in the final series.
In the Bundesliga, Barthel previously played for the Skyliners from Frankfurt and FC Bayern München. Since 2014, the Heidelberg native has also played for the German national team and was part of the 2019 World Cup squad and the 2022 Olympic selection, among others.
