Who will win the Ballon d’Or 2024?

As announced last year, Groupe Amaury, which was previously solely responsible for the award and owns the French newspapers France Football and L’Equipe, will cooperate with UEFA from 2024. In return, Europe’s soccer association will no longer select the European Footballer of the Year. The gala will take place on Monday evening, October 28, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

Which other trophies will be awarded?

In addition to the winner of the Ballon d’Or, the winner of the Ballon d’Or féminin – which was won by Aitana Bonmati last year – and the prizes for the best coaches, the Kopa Trophy for the best young player, the Yashin Trophy for the best goalkeeper and the Gerd Müller Trophy for the best attacker will also be presented, as in the past. When will the nominees be announced?

This will not happen until September 4, well after the conclusion of Euro 2024, the Olympic Games and the Copa America, which will certainly be included in the evaluations.

Who can vote?

Since 2022, one journalist per country in the top 100 of the FIFA World Ranking, who can choose from a shortlist. In addition to representatives of France Football, this shortlist is made up of Ballon d’Or ambassador Didier Drogba and the media representative who came closest to the final result in the previous vote with the points they awarded.
