ÖFB President Gerhard Milletich announced in an ORF interview on Monday after the 4-1 win over Moldova that Franco Foda will also be on the sidelines for the World Cup play-off matches.
There has been speculation for some time whether the German will remain team manager of the Austrian national team after the completion of the World Cup qualifiers So far, Milletich has held back with a clear commitment. With the victories against Israel and Moldova in the last two qualifiers, Foda should have earned the president’s trust at least for the games of the World Cup play-off.
