Austria borrow Slovenian U-21 team player from Eintracht Frankfurt

With Martin Pecar, the Vienna Austria secures the next exciting young professional. From the German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, the Slovenian U-21 team player Martin Pecar is on loan until the end of the season, after which there is an option to buy him.

On “Deadline-Day”, Wiener Austria is once again going through the motions. After the signings of ex-Rapid defender Lucas Galvao and SV Ried talent Lorenzo Coco, they secured a promising offensive player in 19-year-old Martin Pecar. The Slovenia U-21 team player joins the “Veilchen” on loan until the end of the season from German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, who then have an option to buy. “I am very happy and satisfied that this transfer has worked out. It all happened very quickly, but I am happy that I can now be here. Vienna is a really great, big city and I think that Austria was simply the best choice for me and my development now,” said Pekar.

The 19-year-old came through all of Slovenia’s selection teams from the U15s to the U21s and made it through the U17s and U19s in Frankfurt into the professional squad, which is currently coached by Oliver Glasner. However, he has not yet been able to play in the German Bundesliga. “He is a player with a promising perspective who should take the next step with us. We have gathered a lot of information about him and are convinced that this decision per a Slovenian national team player makes absolute sense,” says sport director Manuel Ortlechner.

Head coach Manfred Schmid is also taken with Pekar, who was recommended by ex-Austria playmaker and current Slovenia U-21 team boss Milenko Acimovic: “We are pleased that another team player has decided to join us. He has a lot of potential, will also get the time with us to develop step by step and get used to the new environment. “
