London – After five months, the ATP tennis organisation has not yet concluded its investigation into allegations against Olympic champion Alexander Zverev.
Zverev’s former girlfriend had accused him of hitting her during the Masters Series tournament in Shanghai in October 2019. The 24-year-old from Hamburg has denied those allegations several times. “The investigation is still ongoing,” ATP chief Andrea Gaudenzi said in an interview with internet portal “Spox”.
“We have brought in an independent third party with expertise in this field to assist us in the investigation process,” Gaudenzi said: “I can’t comment on the details of the investigation as of now, but I can say that we will provide more information when the investigation is completed.”
The ATP had launched the investigation at the beginning of October. Zverev had welcomed this.
