At the national team: Jovetic tested positive for Corona

Before the international break, Stevan Jovetic (32) made an impressive comeback as a forward for Hertha BSC Now he is slowed down by ar Corona infection

As confirmed by the capital club on Friday, Jovetic tested positive for the virus at the Montenegro national team. He said the striker was doing well, free of symptoms and currently isolated. In any case, Jovetic will miss the international matches with Montenegro against the Netherlands and Turkey.

For the time being, the 32-year-old will stay in his home country. “If Stevan tests negative after five days, he can return to Berlin immediately and rejoin team training after a cardiological test,” Hertha BSC looks ahead. His use in the Berlin derby on 20 November is thus at least not ruled out yet, but possible in the most favourable course of events.

The attacker had already injured himself in September during a trip to the national team and was subsequently unavailable to the Berliners for around two weeks. In the 1-1 draw against Leverkusen, the last game before the international break, Jovetic was back in the starting line-up for the first time since Matchday 2 and provided the interim 1:0 lead with a beautiful goal.
