For weeks, it has been rumoured that Dani Alves could rejoin FC Barcelona. On Friday evening, the Catalans actually announced the commitment. Dani Alves is expected to train with the club as early as next week, but the winger will not be eligible to play until January.
At the beginning of September, the Brazilian club FC Sao Paulo terminated the contract with Dani Alves. Now the veteran is to defend for Barça again, the agreement initially runs until the end of the season.
Alves already played for the Blaugrana from 2008 to 2016, during which time he won the Champions League three times, among other titles. With 46 titles, Dani Alves is also the most successful professional in the world – 23 of which he won with FCB. In 391 competitive appearances, Dani Alves scored 23 goals.
