Wilfried Zaha may get a resit at the top of the Premier League. The 25-year-old attacker didn’t break through at Manchester United, but is now in Arsenal’s strong interest. The Gunners thus seem to take into account a departure of star attacker Alexis Sánchez.
The Chilean people have a contract that is coming to an end and it does not seem as if he is planning to extend it. Manager Arsène Wenger sees the Sun in Zaha as a suitable successor and would like to launch an offer of more than 39.5 million euros. Yacine Brahimi by FC Porto is also a candidate, but Zaha would stand on one spot.
The eightfold A-international of Ivory Coast comes from the youth education of Crystal Palace and made his debut in the first team in March 2010. In the winter of 2013 he left for Manchester United for a minimum of approximately twelve million euros, but there he did not come any further than four races. Zaha was rented out three times, twice to Crystal Palace and once to Cardiff City, before finally returning to Selhurst Park in the winter of 2015.
Zaha, who also has two interlands for England behind his name, played a total of 263 duels for the Eagles and in this game he was responsible for 36 hits and 50 assists. This season, after five performances in the Premier League, the counter stands at two goals. Zaha’s contract continues until the summer of 2022, so Arsenal will indeed have to come up with a substantial transfer sum to buy it off.
Would Wilfried Zaha be a suitable successor to Alexis Sánchez?
