“Anyone can make a mistake”: Sancho and ten Hag speak out

Whether Jadon Sancho and Manchester United would reunite seemed very doubtful for a long time. Now there has been a discussion and it seems to be heading towards a new attempt for the Englishman at the Red Devils

At the start of last season, United coach Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho fell out. The coach criticized the dribbling artist’s poor training performance, and the Englishman then accused his coach of lying via social media. The 24-year-old was subsequently not allowed to train with the team.

In any case, the relationship could not be mended last season, with Sancho only playing three times in the Premier League. He then went on loan to Dortmund in the winter. The Englishman had already played successfully for BVB between 2017 and 2021. The winger then played 14 times for the Black & Yellows in the Bundesliga in the second half of the season (two goals, three assists) and seven times in the Champions League (one goal). He was always a starter in the top flight, playing every game from the round of 16 to the final (2-0 defeat to Real).

BVB had faint hopes of signing Sancho on, but it was always clear that it would be very difficult to do so economically

Ten Hag: “I hope it will still work out “

At the moment, it looks as if Sancho will make another attempt at the Red Devils. The Englishman is training with the team again and was in the starting eleven for Saturday’s friendly against Glasgow Rangers (2-0). There was a discussion between player and coach.

“We had a good chat. Anyone can make a mistake. If the player thinks about it properly, then we’ll draw a line under it and move on,” ten Hag told the Dutch daily AD. He hopes that things will click with Sancho. “This club needs good players, and one thing is certain: Jadon Sancho is a terribly good player. I hope it does work out and he contributes to our success.”

So it looks like Sancho will be making another attempt at Manchester United. The dribble artist moved from Dortmund to the Red Devils in 2021 and has since made 75 appearances for the English side (eleven goals).
