With Juuso Puhakka, another Finn celebrates his entry into the ADAC GT Masters – The 23-year-old replaces Maximilian Götz, whose mission is complete
Juuso Puhakka joins Team Madpanda Motorsport in the ADAC GT Masters. The 23-year-old replaces Maximilian Götz in the cockpit of the 90 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and will be chasing points at the Lausitzring together with Ezequiel Perez Companc. Götz completed his mission to help the Madpanda team with their set-up work at the Nürburgring.
“Juuso Puhakka is a talented and ambitious driver who has already gained a lot of experience in GT. With him, we want to continue where we left off at the Nürburgring with fifth place,” explains team boss Ezequiel Perez Companc.
The young Finn began his motorsport career in Formula Renault and the Northern European Formula 4 Championship, where he celebrated his first victory in 2017. His path then led him via various Asian Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships (he took the Pro-Am title in Asia in 2018) into GT3 racing.
He has been active in the GT World Challenge (GTWC) Europe since 2020. With Toksport WRT, he achieved several single-digit results, but always narrowly missed out on the overall podium. He finished fourth in the Silver Cup in 2020 and 2021.
2022, although still Silver-ranked, he moved up to the Pro Cup, switched from Sprint to Endurance Cup and from Mercedes-AMG to Audi at Attempto Racing. He now returns to the old familiar Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the ADAC GT Masters.
Puhakka is no stranger to Madpanda: In 2020 and 2021 he already drove sporadic GTWC Endurance races for Ezequiel Perez Companc’s team. In 2020, he finished fourth in the Silver Cup at the 24 Hours of Spa.
This season, Juuso Puhakka is already the fourth Finn to compete in the German GT Championship, alongside Konsta Lappalainen, Jesse Krohn and Elias Seppänen.
