One of the biggest talents on the FIFA scene makes his Virtual Bundesliga debut today. Before kick-off, Anders Vejrgang shows his usual self-confidence.
Increased attention, both in the community and in the media. Today does not seem like a normal day in the Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship.
The 23rd and 24th matchday in the South East Division marks the long-awaited debut of one of the biggest talents on the FIFA scene. Anders ‘Anders’ Vejrgang, who celebrated his 16th birthday just under a month ago, is finally allowed to play in official FIFA tournaments.
However, the great attention for his debut leaves the young Dane extremely cold: “Because the Virtual Bundesliga is a high profile, the pressure from outside is naturally greater. But if I play well, I will win,” says ‘RBLZ_Vejrgang’ in an interview with kicker eSport.
‘Anders’ instead of ‘Umut’ in doubles with ‘Gaucho10’
In preparation for the games against FC Augsburg and SpVgg Greuther Fürth, not only were plenty of training sessions held against other clubs, but their playing styles were also analysed. In addition, there were valuable tips from ‘Umut’ and ‘Gaucho10’, especially with regard to the team duel.
Because ‘Anders’ will not only compete alone on the Xbox Series X, but also replace his teammate ‘Umut’ in the doubles on the PlayStation 5.
“My goal is to win!” said Vejrgang unequivocally about today’s match day and the entire season with RB Leipzig. The 16-year-old wants to completely ignore the increased expectations, which are already high not only because of the Weekend League record: “When I think about the pressure, I don’t think I will win. So I don’t think about it and just play my game.”
There was already another pointer in the FIFA 22 Global Series showmatch – ‘Anders’ beat his RBLZ teammate ‘Umut’ 2-1, beating the current best player in the VBL. So the self-confidence shown seems to stand with a stable foundation on the virtual turf.
The 23rd and 24th matchday of the South-East Division will be broadcast live on the VBL-Twitch channel from 18:00 today. You can see ‘Anders’ games against SpVgg Greuther Fürth from 20:00 in the Featured Conference.
