The Brazilian offensive player Antony is facing a move to Manchester United. His current coach Alfred Schreuder has a clear opinion on this.
According to unanimous media reports, everything is as good as clear: The 22-year-old attacking player Antony will join Manchester United in the coming days for up to 100 million euros. His current coach at Ajax Amsterdam, an old acquaintance from the Bundesliga, does not want this to happen.
Schreuder has said “more than enough” on Antony issue
Alfred Schreuder, ex-coach of TSG Hoffenheim, was already of the opinion last Thursday that Antony would not be for sale this summer. The 49-year-old also stood by this after his team’s 2-0 win at FC Utrecht on Sunday. Instead, he did not like to talk about Antony, who had recently stressed that he wanted to leave. “I have said more than enough about this subject.”
The Dutch coach would have preferred to answer questions about the game, but Schreuder still added something about Antony: “Nowadays it’s always about money”, which is “very sad” – “but that’s our world”.
Disagreeing with today’s transfer procedure
Schreuder concluded clearly. “I do not agree with such procedures at all.” The fact that the 95 million euros offered could even grow to 100 million euros with bonuses, and thus become the biggest transfer revenue for the Amsterdam side, does not seem to interest the coach.
