All-clear for Frimpong

Before the final two international matches in the European Championship qualifiers, Leverkusen’s professional Jeremie Frimpong was lost to the Netherlands. However, this does not have a major impact on Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s next tasks

On Friday, examinations of Jeremie Frimpong revealed that there is no serious injury.

After being called up for the Netherlands for the European Championship qualifiers against Ireland on Saturday and in Gibraltar on Tuesday (8.45pm), the 22-year-old rail-track player had returned to Leverkusen after suffering a muscle injury in training.

However, the club doctors have only diagnosed a minor muscle injury. In detail: As the Bundesliga leaders announced on Friday evening, Frimpong is only struggling with slight problems in his left hip.

Fit on the Weser?

If at all, only Frimpong’s participation in Bremen on Saturday in two weeks’ time (November 25, 3.30pm) is therefore at risk. However, Leverkusen are aiming for the professional to be fully fit again on the Weser and for Xabi Alonso to be available.

How important that would be is obvious: Frimpong has been a firm anchor in the Werkself’s outstanding season so far. In eleven Bundesliga games for the Bundesliga leaders alone, the Dutch international has scored three goals and provided six assists in eleven appearances.
