Rome – After his triumph in the Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid, Spanish tennis youngster Carlos Alcaraz will not compete in the next Masters 1000 category event in Rome. Alcaraz cancelled his participation due to slight ankle problems.
The 19-year-old Spaniard does not want to take any risks with an eye on the French Open which starts in a fortnight. In Madrid, Alcaraz outclassed Olympic champion Alexander Zverev 6:3, 6:1 in the final on Sunday. The tournament in Rome is already underway. The stars like Zverev have a bye in the first round.
