Alba’s Kameric is Bamberg’s twelfth man

The Bamberg Baskets have started their preparation for the new season – and presented their twelfth man on Thursday.

The Bamberg Baskets held their first team training session at the training centre in Strullendorf on Thursday, so preparation for the new BBL season starting at the end of September is underway.

New to the Upper Franconians is Abdulah “Abi” Kameric, who the Baskets signed as their twelfth man. The player, who turned 23 on Monday, joins the former series champions from Alba Berlin.

Elf points average in Bernau

So far, Kameric can boast one stint in the BBL, otherwise he mainly played for Berlin’s cooperation partner Lok Bernau in the third-class ProB (22 minutes and eleven points on average) in the past season.

The 1.92 metre tall and 86 kilogram point guard has both US and Bosnian citizenship, but is not considered a foreign player in the BBL due to his “homegrown status”. Kameric will receive a one-year contract in Bamberg.

Bamberg will start the season on 28 September with an away game at BBL returnee Rasta Vechta.
