Alba Berlin was shown its limits in the Euroleague on Friday evening. The Albatrosses had no chance in Barcelona
Alba Berlin suffered a clear defeat in the EuroLeague against title contenders FC Barcelona led by German center Oscar da Silva. The Albatrosses had no chance in a 77:93 (39:51) defeat and were unable to repeat their first-leg coup. In December, the team of Head Coach Israel Gonzalez had surprisingly won (74:70) against Barcelona, which is in second place in the top flight.
With five wins in 26 games, Alba has the worst record of the 18 EuroLeague teams together with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne and has nothing to do with the race for the play-off places
In the second quarter, the title contenders pulled away with an 11:0 run. The Albatrosses did a bit of scoring cosmetics in the final period (26:13). Oscar da Silva, who wore the Alba jersey in the 2021-22 season, impressed for Barca with ten points and ten rebounds. Tim Schneider was the most accurate scorer for Berlin (14).
