Alba Berlin has lost its first test game. The runners-up lost 74:81 to Veolia Towers Hamburg in Oranienburg, while RASTA Vechta remains unbeaten in the preseason
Matt Thomas and Martin Hermannsson were rested, but new signings Will McDowell-White (3 points, 5 assists) and Trevion Williams (7, 7 rebounds) made their first appearance in an Alba jersey. Jaizec Lottie (16 points, 5 assists) was the top scorer for Hamburg, which was playing its fifth test game, while Brae Ivey (12) also scored in double figures.
In another BBL duel, EWE Baskets Oldenburg prevailed 93:78 in front of over 3,000 spectators in Rostock. Justin Jaworski scored 22 points, while guest player Aleksandas Zecevic (16) also impressed in the frontcourt. Oldenburg’s new captain Geno Crandell (13, 9 assists) narrowly missed out on a double-double. Bryce Hamilton was the top scorer for Rostock with 15 points
Vechta remains unbeaten in the preseason
RASTA Vechta and the MBC also celebrated significant victories. Vechta only had problems with the Leuven Bears in the first half, but ultimately won in commanding fashion by 85:66. Joel Aminu notched up 18 points and 5 assists, while new big man Isaiah Cozart notched up a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Syntainics MBC also prevailed 81:62 against the Hungarians from Soproni in Zrece, Slovenia, with Tyren Johnson (17) and Michael Devoe (14) shouldering the main scoring burden.
