After Sebastien Loeb: Nasser Al-Attiyah will also drive the 2025 Dakar Rally for Dacia

The “all-star team” of the Dakar Rally will remain together beyond next year: After Sebastien Loeb, Dacia has also signed Nasser Al-Attiyah

Dacia will tackle the 2025 Dakar Rally with a top-class driver pairing. After the Renault Group brand had already announced Sebastien Loeb as a driver in the summer, Dacia has now also announced the signing of Nasser Al-Attiyah.

This means that the Dakar Rally’s “all-star team” will remain together beyond 2024, as both will be team-mates at Prodrive next year. A third Dacia vehicle will be driven by the Spaniard Cristina Gutierrez.

“I’m really happy to be part of Dacia,” says Al-Attiyah. “I think it will be a very good and strong team and we will try to win in the first year.”

“It’s a dream team. I have a lot of respect for Sebastien Loeb and Cristina and a good relationship with both of them,” adds the five-time Dakar winner. “We are really very strong and our goal is to win with this beautiful Dacia brand.”

Dacia, previously known as the “low-cost brand” of the Renault Group, will be competing in the Dakar Rally for the first time in 2025. The vehicle, which has not yet been unveiled, will run on purely synthetic fuel.

Loeb, Al-Attiyah and Gutierrez will complete test drives with the Dacia car in 2024. The first race is planned for October 2024 at the Morocco Rally.
