The Los Angeles Clippers may have won their NBA game against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, but coach Tyronn Lue was still furious with the referees. His statements are expensive
The coach of basketball world champion Daniel Theis has to pay a fine of 35,000 US dollars. The NBA based its decision on Friday on statements made by Tyronn Lue after the Clippers’ victory two days earlier at the Golden State Warriors. Lue was filmed after the 130-125 win, when he was ejected by the referees in the final quarter, saying: “Where are the refs now? Cheating. That’s all they’ve done.” He also said he wanted to “kick one of the referees in the mouth”.
The Clippers are currently one of the most in-form teams in the league and are considered one of the candidates for the championship. Theis, who joined the Clippers from the Indiana Pacers during the season, did not play in the game in San Francisco.
