EA SPORTS made a mistake when releasing the EURO items in FC 24. However, some FUT fans are more annoyed by the type of compensation than the original mishap
The developer actually wanted to get FUT players in the mood for the European Championship – but this plan backfired, at least in part. Six EURO ambassador objects featuring Florian Wirtz were recently released. Obtaining one of them is very simple: the only task is to play a game in Ultimate Team by January 16. However, some fans didn’t even have to do that. They accidentally drew the EURO cards from regular packs.
A mistake that EA SPORTS quickly corrected. The publisher also announced compensation, the distribution of which is said to have been completed by midday on Thursday. According to EA, the affected players have received “the correct content”. In other words, the version of the professional footballer that is currently available in the packs. In Wirtz’s case, this is his gold card. However, the compensation for another of the developer’s European Championship ambassadors is much better.
RTTK-Dembelé instead of Gold-Wirtz
Ousmane Dembelé was part of the second team of the “Road to the Knockouts” (RTTK) promotion. As part of this, the PSG attacker was given an improved special card for the packs – with 97 pace. The five stars each for weak foot and special moves also make the item an excellent option for the right wing. For comparison: Wirtz’s gold card has four stars each, and its strongest basic value is dribbling with 87 points.
On X, user ‘HannesPloeger’ summarizes what various FUT players have said in different ways: “I drew EURO Wirtz and ten minutes later received the gold object as compensation. How unfair is that?” The starting point for this comment was a post in which RTTK-Dembelé was discussed as the new compensation. FUTBIN, in turn, pointed out that EA SPORTS had acted correctly.
“Dembelé’s RTTK version is in the packs, so it’s the right compensation,” wrote the database’s X account. In fact, the process only seems unfair at first glance: the EURO items should never have replaced the other versions of the players in the packs. If EA SPORTS had not made this faux pas, the fans affected would have been left with the same result. Some would have drawn RTTK-Dembelé – and others would have drawn Wirtz’s gold item
