The organizers of the British Grand Prix want to increase the number of cheapest tickets for 2025 and limit dynamic price increases
In light of recent discussions about the cost of major events, particularly due to the controversial dynamic pricing for the next tour of the British band Oasis, the Grands Prix organizers have announced details of their plans for the 2025 race.
With interest in the July 3-6 event likely to be high due to recent successes by Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, Silverstone Circuit announced this Wednesday that the availability of the cheapest tickets would be increased. Hamilton had sharply criticized prices in 2024.
It was confirmed that tickets for general day admission will range from 70 (83) to 329 pounds (393 euros), while tickets for the entire weekend will cost between 269 (321) and 399 pounds (476). Admission for Friday will be offered at a fixed price of 99 pounds (118). Children under 11 are free.
Reserved grandstand seats can be purchased for race day starting at 309 pounds (369). A reserved seat in the Hamilton Straight grandstand for race day and qualifying, plus admission to all four days, including the opening concert and three evenings of live music, can cost up to 909 pounds (1,086).
Prices for the Farm Curve grandstands will remain at £319 (€381) for race day and £409 (€488) for the weekend throughout the sales process. A three-day ticket for the Landostand at Stowe will be priced at £474 (€566).
Dynamic pricing will be limited
While some dynamic pricing will be retained to encourage people to book early, Silverstone will increase the availability of fixed-price tickets. This applies, among other things, to general Friday admission, standing areas, the “Farm Curve” grandstand and the “Landostand” at Stowe.
Explaining why tickets are initially cheaper and then increase in price as sales progress, organizers say: “Early ticket sales significantly support the running of Silverstone’s year-round business, which is managed by the British Racing Drivers’ Club SRC, a non-profit organization.”
“Therefore, our ticket strategy will once again reward those who book early, as well as those who are loyal supporters of the track throughout the year through their membership of the SRC, and those who book campsites on site early.”
“As in previous years, some prices will rise if we reach certain capacity limits within each ticket category. Live prices are displayed on our ticket page, and the full price ranges for each ticket category are clearly communicated in advance,” it continues.
Silverstone assures: “Any price changes will be monitored and capped within the advertised price ranges. No one will pay more than these price ranges.”
Presales start this week
In this context, the organizers of the British Grand Prix also emphasize that some price categories remained unchanged throughout the entire sales process last year and that 60 percent of fans paid less than the average price because they bought their selected tickets early.
For 2025, booking for the official campsite opened on September 19. Ticket sales for members of the SRC began with an exclusive 48-hour period on September 23. Ticket sales for campers then opened on September 25. All remaining tickets will be released from September 26.
