At the weekend, midfielders Rani Khedira and Pawel Wszolek missed the first two days of training at 1. FC Union Berlin due to their Corona illnesses.
However, at least Khedira was able to resume training in Köpenick on Monday. The 27-year-old showed no symptoms during the Covid 19 infection. As a previously fully vaccinated player, he was able to test free after five days.
At the beginning of the week, Khedira has a scheduled rehabilitation training. Later in the week, he is expected to train fully. It remains to be seen whether he will make it into the squad for the first second-round match at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (3.30 pm).
