A slight sigh of relief: Dembelé and Aguero back in Barça training

A slight sigh of relief in Barcelona: Ousmane Dembelé and Sergio Aguero have returned to training for the Catalans after their injuries.

The two players trained with the team again for the first time on Monday afternoon, FC Barcelona announced. The ex-Dortmund Dembelé was recovering from a tendon injury in his knee, which also caused him to miss the European Championship. Aguero has been plagued by calf problems that have so far prevented the Manchester City newcomer from making his first appearance for Barça. However, it remains uncertain whether the two attackers will play or be in the squad for Sunday’s match against Valencia.

For Barça, the returnees come just in time: The Catalans are currently in ninth place in the Spanish league and five points behind the top trio, consisting of the two Madrid clubs and Real Sociedad. They have also made a poor start to their Champions League campaign with two defeats from two games. The last ray of hope came from youngster Gavi, who showed his mettle on the international stage for Spain in a 2-1 win over Italy in the Nations League.
