South of Valencia, Aron Canet and his girlfriend have a traffic accident – The Spaniard gives the all-clear, but speaks of a big fright
Moto2 rider Aron Canet was involved in a traffic accident in Spain last weekend. Canet and his girlfriend were uninjured. However, the 22-year-old had to spend a night in hospital for observation. In the meantime, he has given the all-clear himself.
The accident happened on the CV-510 road near Corbera, where Canet lives. This small town is about 50 kilometres south of Valencia. Canet was travelling with his girlfriend in a Corvette. The accident happened on Saturday evening at around 7:30 pm.
“Fortunately, my girlfriend and I are okay,” Canet wrote on the short message service Twitter. “Yesterday we had a traffic accident. I was a passenger. It was a big scare but we only have small scrapes. “

This season, the Pons rider is one of the World Championship candidates in the middle class. At the abandoned race in Portugal, he suffered a fracture in his left forearm when he fell while leading in the rain.
He was operated on immediately and did not miss a race. Canet finished on the podium five times in the first nine Grands Prix. The 22-year-old is third in the overall World Championship standings. He is 24 points behind Celestino Vietti in the championship.
