FC Bayern apparently do not have to fear an absence of Lucas Hernandez, who was substituted in Dortmund.
“Luci is basically fine,” gab Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann gave the all-clear after the 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening. He said the switch was “more of a mixture” – of a “precautionary measure” and the idea of bringing in “a new, fresh centre-back with a lot of speed” “because it was clear that Dortmund would take more risks”.
Hernandez had hurt himself in the 70th minute when he blocked a shot by substitute Marius Wolf and subsequently sank to the ground with his face contorted in pain.
After a break for treatment, the Frenchman initially returned to the pitch, but was then substituted for Niklas Süle shortly afterwards.
