A-licence course: Bonner SC parts ways with Joppe

At the turn of the year, Björn Joppe leaves as coach at regional league club Bonner SC. He wants to obtain the A-coach licence.

The separation from Joppe on 31 December is amicable, as the Rhinelanders reported on Wednesday evening. Joppe will complete the course for the A-coach licence in the coming year and will only be available to BSC on a temporary basis in the relegation battle, according to the official announcement of the regional league club.

“Our situation requires full commitment “

“We have therefore agreed in our talks that both are difficult to reconcile in view of the league situation,” said BSC sporting director Daniel Zillken: “Our situation is challenging and requires full commitment and availability. We will now look at how we reposition ourselves at the head coach position.”

BSC sporting director Stefan Krämer added: “We thank Björn Joppe for his commitment. He took up his coaching position at the end of 2020 in a difficult situation for the club and led us to keeping us in the Regionalliga. We wish him all the best for his professional future and further career path. “

Reappointment until 3 January

The outgoing coach thanked the team for their one hundred percent commitment “at every training session”. He said Joppe had made “many new friends at BSC and wished the club and team all the best”. The BSC plans to fill the vacant position by the start of training on 3 January. The Bonn team is currently in 16th place in the West German league, fifth from last. Due to the planned reduction of the participants from 20 to 18 clubs in the coming season, five or six clubs will probably be relegated.
