It was with high expectations that Romeo Lavia moved to Chelsea FC rather than Liverpool in the summer. However, his first season in London couldn’t have gone much worse
Liverpool FC had also wanted him last summer, but would not have been able to use him: Romeo Lavia’s injury woes continue. The 20-year-old Belgian midfielder, who plays for Chelsea FC, is still suffering from a thigh injury, which has already ruled him out for the season due to a setback in his recovery process. The strong defensive midfielder, for whom the Blues paid around €62 million to Southampton FC in the summer, has only played 32 minutes this season, his first for the Blues, in a 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace on December 27.
An ankle injury in mid-September had initially kept the talented midfielder out of action for months, before the thigh injury followed in December, which the club say Lavia will not recover from before the summer

Chelsea FC, Champions League winners in 2021, are only in eleventh place in the Premier League after 27 games, partly due to injuries. The Blues have also been waiting for top performer Reece James since December, while former Leipzig player Christopher Nkunku, who had come in as a key player in attack, is also currently missing
