DTM Manager Frederic Elsner Opens Hair Salon in Tyrol

DTM manager Frederic Elsner has an unusual career: The ex-professional football player opened a hairdressing salon in his home country – DTM celebrities included

DTM manager Frederic Elsner goes among hairdressers: the former American football player, who has been working for the DTM umbrella organisation ITR since 2018 and played an important role in the relaunch of the racing series after the manufacturer’s exit, opened a hairdressing salon, Hair Lodge, in Ellmau in Tyrol last Tuesday

Motorsport celebrities gathered at the opening: motorsport legend and former DTM champion Hans-Joachim Stuck was spotted, but DTM Trophy manager Martin Tomczyk, who won the title in 2011, and Mercedes-AMG figurehead Lucas Auer were also on hand.

Like the nephew of DTM boss Gerhard Berger, 33-year-old Elsner comes from the Kufstein area – the two have been friends for years and also regularly go on ski tours together in winter.

Elsner, who will not be cutting himself, is quite satisfied with the start of his hair salon.

“The initial response has absolutely exceeded our expectations. I would like to thank all the partners and those who have actively lent a hand and helped to make Ellmau a little more ‘Stylemau’,” grins the busy Tyrolean, who played for the Mars Hill Lions college football team in North Carolina more than ten years ago and then made a career in the DTM.

At the opening ceremony, things were quite funny: “Strietzel” Stuck posed for a photo with Elsner in a wig – and then vigorously drummed up publicity on Facebook: “Wash – cut – blow-dry. World class”.
