The Gamevention 2022 takes place from 1 to 3 July. Cosplays, musical interludes and eSports competitions entice visitors, who can additionally try their hand at a variety of games and a real gaming revolution.
The outdoor pools are getting fuller, the ice is melting especially fast and the good weather is calling people outdoors. Summer has arrived in Germany and has brought a question with it: enjoy the weather outdoors, or indulge in your favourite games in front of your home hardware? Actually unusual, a counter-question is the answer: Why not both?
Schleswig-Holstein continues to be an eSports pioneer
This is made possible by Gamevention 2022, which as a “Community and eSports Festival” in Neumünster wants to provide the best gaming entertainment in the best weather. To this end, the fair offers a colourful package of eSports, casual gaming, culture and expertise from 1 to 3 July.
With three state championships in eFootball, Rocket League and League of Legends, Schleswig-Holstein will once again underpin its pioneering role in eSports. In addition, stands of clubs, leagues and associations as well as numerous talks promise deep insights into the work behind the scenes and coaching.
But not only visitors interested in competition will be catered for. Recreational gamers will also have the opportunity to check out a variety of different titles at over 100 gaming stations, ranging from Biomutant and World of Tanks to Spongebob and Airhead.
In addition, the gaming event in the Holstenhallen will feature a very special treat: Hado. This is a futuristic augmented reality title in which two teams compete against each other in a kind of dodge ball.
From the Middle Ages via Metal into Virtual Reality
Those who need a little relaxation after a round in the virtual arena can also visit a gaming exhibition or indulge in other cultural aspects of video game art – cosplays, for example. In addition to a competition to find the best outfit, workshops will provide know-how for the next handicraft project at home.
Parallel to gaming content of all kinds, a total of 18 acts will offer musical entertainment ranging from metal to pop to reggae, while a medieval market will serve as a contrast programme. The gates of Gamevention 2022 are open from Friday, 1 July.
