Driver quartet for both cars confirmed – All other 2022 season races to be contested – Two Aston Martin planned for full 2023 ADAC GT4 Germany season.
The ADAC GT4 Germany is getting another addition: starting with the races at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands, Team Speed Monkeys will enter the series with two Aston Martin Vantage GT4s. This means that the field of the ADAC GT4 Germany continues to grow ahead of the guest race at the North Sea.
“The ADAC GT4 Germany is a really great and interesting race series. We have already made two guest appearances with a Porsche in 2021 and felt really comfortable. Now we are expanding the programme further and want to establish ourselves in the championship in the long term,” explains team boss Christian Bracke. The four drivers for the race at Circuit Zandvoort have already been confirmed.
Paul-Aurel König and Konstantin Lachenauer will share an Aston Martin. The two youngsters have already achieved great successes in 2022. König won Sunday’s race at the season opener of the ADAC GT4 Germany in an Allied-Racing Porsche. It was already his second victory in the series. Lachenauer triumphed at the first race weekend of the GT4 European Series in Imola/Italy and currently leads the championship standings in the European championship by a commanding margin.
“Although the ADAC GT4 Germany is extremely strong, we would like to compete for the wins with this duo at Zandvoort. Paul is a young driver, but he has already shown his great potential. He knows the ADAC GT4 Germany well. We want to continue to build and develop him as a racing driver. With Konstantin Lachenauer, he has an absolute top star at his side. I count Konstantin among the world’s best GT4 drivers,” says Bracke.
The sister car will be driven by Jacob Riegel and Marc de Fulgencio at Zandvoort. Both were already on the grid in the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2021 and are therefore now also making their series comeback.
“For Jacob, it’s about gaining further racing experience. Marc is a top-class driver who is also interesting for our future. At Zandvoort, he has the opportunity to get to know our car under racing conditions,” Bracke explains further. “For this pairing, I see a top-five result as a realistic target.”
After the comeback event at Zandvoort, it’s on to the ADAC GT4 Germany for Team Speed Monkeys. “We want to contest the entire remainder of the 2022 season,” Bracke clarifies. “König and Lachenauer’s car is already fixed for this. “
“We are currently in the planning phase for the second car. Here we would like to try out some drivers with a view to 2023. Because then we want to contest the full ADAC GT4 Germany season with two Aston Martins. “
