Golden Shoe: On a par with Mbappé! Schick shoots high into 4th place

Stagnation at the top of the table brings Robert Lewandowski one step closer to another Golden Shoe triumph. Even the winner’s podium is now in the sights of a Leverkusen man.

Robert Lewandowski failed to score in Bayern’s 2-2 draw at home to VfB Stuttgart, leaving him on 34 goals and 68 points. The Pole in the service of the German champions is therefore still a commanding leader. Especially as there was hardly any movement in the standings behind the defending champions, who won with 41 goals and 82 points in pre-season.

Because Lazio Roma’s Ciro Immobile (27 goals, 54 points) and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema (26/52) also came away empty-handed.

Schick’s brace in Sinsheim pays off

Movement is only behind the podium again in the field of participants: Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick, for example, was able to climb up to fourth place because he managed a brace in the Werkself’s 4-2 win at 1899 Hoffenheim. The Czech scored goals to make it 1:1 and 3:2.

PSG star Kylian Mbappé shares fourth place with Schick, while Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus Turin is sixth. Both failed to register a goal at the weekend.

From a Bundesliga perspective, there are three more players in the top 20: Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is still eighth with 21 goals and 42 points. Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku scored a brace in the 4-0 win over Augsburg and now finds himself in P12. Anthony Modeste of 1. FC Köln remained on 19 goals and slipped to 16th place.
