EA SPORTS can’t release any content updates for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team (FUT) shortly before the release of the community TOTS – a problem at the most inopportune time.
The kick-off of the biggest FUT promo of the year is just around the corner: on Friday evening, the developer plans to announce who has made it into the Community TOTS. The release is expected to kick off the content of the month-and-a-half-long event, which will include quite a few TOTS.
Recent communication from EA SPORTS, however, casts slight doubt on the schedule: Apparently, no content updates can be carried out in FUT 22 at the moment, which is why TOTW 32 was released on Wednesday evening – but the traditionally associated Silver Star was not.
Community TOTS planned for Friday
Another and more far-reaching consequence is the postponement of the sixth FUT Season, which was supposed to open on Thursday. The corresponding tasks and rewards will receive a “delayed start time”, EA SPORTS has not yet announced more precise information.
What about the community TOTS on Friday at 7pm? Uncertain – the developer has not yet commented on this. In Vancouver, they are probably currently working under high pressure to fix the bug in order to guarantee the scheduled release anyway.
EA SPORTS against the rat tail
Because a postponement of the community TOTS would possibly also result in a later release of all other selections. The Premier League could forfeit its date of 6 May, the Bundesliga might have to move away from 13 May. For EA SPORTS, the task now is to avoid this rat race.
