Krawietz and Mies win doubles title in Barcelona

Barcelona – The German tennis doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies won the title at the tournament in Barcelona. The duo won the final against Dutchman Wesley Koolhof and Briton Neal Skupski in a match tiebreak 6:7 (3:7), 7:6 (7:5), 10:6. For Krawietz and Mies, it was their first tournament win since their joint comeback earlier this year.

The two Germans had not been able to play together for more than half a year last season due to a knee injury suffered by Mies. Instead, Krawietz formed a successful doubles team with Romanian Horia Tecau. Since the beginning of this year, the two two-time French Open winners have been playing together again, but have recently suffered numerous first-round defeats. Four weeks before the start of the French Open, Krawietz and Mies now tanked up on important self-confidence in Barcelona.
