Suns stumble surprisingly – Butler with career best

The Phoenix Suns surprisingly lost their second game against the News Orleans Pelicans. Memphis got revenge for the lost first game against Minnesota.

Ingram narrowly misses triple-double – Suns worry about Booker

Two days after the Suns’ easy win to open the series against the Pels, they suffered a 114-125 loss on Tuesday night (local time). Led by Brandon Ingram, who just missed a triple-double (37 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists), the Pels turned up the heat, especially in the third period, and built a lead they never relinquished in the final quarter, thanks in part to their scoring prowess. “We started aggressively and stayed resilient,” Ingram told TV station TNT. The Suns’ best scorer was Devin Booker with 31 points, but he injured his thigh in the third quarter and could not continue playing. The series between the highly-favoured Suns and underdog New Orleans is now 1-1 – game three will be played on Friday night.

Morant leads – Woves with weak throwing percentage

First, the Memphis Grizzlies also managed to equalise against the Minnesota Timberwolves. After the surprisingly clear defeat on Saturday, the Grizzlies got a 124:96 and lived up to their role as favourites for the first time in this series. Ja Morant, in particular, turned up the heat this time, scoring 23 points, handing out ten assists and collecting nine rebounds. Six other Grizzlies players scored in double figures. The Wolves, on the other hand, shot a meagre 39 percent from the field and were ultimately without a chance.

Heat extend lead thanks to outstanding Butler

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat already hold a 2-0 lead and also decided the second game against the Atlanta Hawks in their favour. Thanks to an outstanding Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat won game two of their series against the Atlanta Hawks. The 32-year-old scored 45 points – his personal best in the play-offs – and played a major role in the Heat’s 115-105 win.
