This is how the World Cup ticket allocation works: Registration, Fan Club, Bonus Points

Those who want to support the German national team at the World Cup in Qatar can apply now. However, up to 60 tickets can only be ordered once a number of requirements have been met.

As with the last finals, fans have to follow a certain procedure to get tickets for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (21 November to 18 December). Currently and until 28 April, supporters of the German national team can apply for tickets.

Who can apply for World Cup tickets?

“To be able to participate in the application procedure of the PMA contingent (Participating Member Association), interested parties must either be a member of the Fan Club Nationalmannschaft or complete a tournament registration,” it says on the DFB website. At best, this costs ten euros (tournament registration). These procedures are intended to prevent people from obtaining tickets for whom there is a stadium ban.

How many World Cup tickets are for sale?

In the so-called “PMA quota”, eight per cent of the stadium capacity is available to the national associations. In an arena with 50,000 seats, for example, this would correspond to 4000 tickets for German fans.

A person can apply for a maximum of six tickets per match. In total, applications are possible for ten matches and thus 60 tickets per person.

How are the World Cup tickets allocated?

If demand exceeds supply, 40 per cent of the tickets will be raffled (in this example: 1600 tickets). The remaining 60 per cent (in this case: 2400 tickets) will only go to members of the Fan Club, who thus have a much better chance. Within this contingent, people with the highest number of bonus points will be awarded the tickets. Bonus points are awarded to members based on the number of international matches they have attended and the length of their membership. The tickets will be allocated at the end of May at the earliest.

What do World Cup tickets cost?

For the group matches, tickets cost between 40 (category 4) and 800 euros (category 1), depending on the category. For the round of 16 matches, the cheapest ticket costs 300 euros. The finals will cost at least 750 euros, or 5850 euros in the highest category.
