Kohlschreiber and Struff at tennis tournament in Munich

Munich – In addition to tennis Olympic champion Alexander Zverev, at least three other German players will be represented in the main draw of the clay court tournament in Munich in the veterans Philipp Kohlschreiber and Jan-Lennard Struff as well as Daniel Altmaier.

As tournament director Patrik Kühnen announced, 38-year-old Kohlschreiber will receive one of the wildcards for the traditional event from 23 April to 1 May.

Kohlschreiber, who is at the end of a long tennis career, has won the event at the Iphitos facility three times. “I am really looking forward to it. In Munich, I play with good length. My topspin jumps higher,” the Augsburg player explained his success.

Struff is aiming for his first ATP title in Munich. Last year, the Davis Cup professional only lost in the final to Nikolos Bassilaschwili. The Georgian will be back again this year, as will top ten player Casper Ruud from Norway, who just defeated Zverev at the tournament in Miami. In doubles, two-time French Open winners Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies will serve.
