Hope after bad news: Will Kroos play against PSG after all?

Toni Kroos’ muscle injury was only announced on Thursday – and with it the next bad news for Real Madrid, which is already suffering from a lack of personnel. However, the 2014 World Cup winner still has hopes of playing against PSG.

When Real Madrid face Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie next Wednesday and have to make up a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, the Royals will definitely be missing Casemiro (yellow suspension).

On Thursday evening it also leaked out that Toni Kroos would be missing. The former Germany international suffered a hamstring injury in training, which his coach Carlo Ancelotti said was simply “bad luck”.

“It’s going to be tight “

Kroos himself, however, expects to play alongside Luka Modric in the Blancos’ midfield – if everything goes as well as possible. “It’s a small injury,” the 32-year-old ex-Munich man explained in his podcast “Einfach mal Luppen” in conversation with brother Felix. “It’s not 100 per cent to say if it will last until Wednesday. It will be tight.” But: “I’m not ruling it out “
