Fury announces career end

Turmoil surrounding boxing world champion Tyson Fury: The Brit wants to end his career after the heavyweight fight against Dillian Whyte.

Big surprise in boxing: Tyson Fury has announced he is ending his career.

The world champion told a press conference on Tuesday that he was retiring from boxing after his world title heavyweight fight against Dillian Whyte.

“I’m going to be 34 years old, it’s the last fight of my career, I’m going to retire after this,” Fury, who meets compatriot and rival Whyte at Wembley Stadium on April 23, said.

Originally, some boxing fans had hoped that Fury would face the winner of the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk later this year. But the 33-year-old wants to spend more time with his wife and six children.

Fury: “Have $150 million in the bank “

Fury apparently already has concrete plans in mind. “I have $150 million in the bank, I’m young, healthy. I’m going to buy a huge yacht abroad,” he opined.

Fury had ended his last world title fight in October 2021 with a knockout victory over American Deontay Wilder after eleven rounds. Whyte is the official challenger to Fury, who is still unbeaten in his 32 professional fights.
