Oldenburg’s winning streak stopped – Bonn slip up in Würzburg

The Telekom Baskets Bonn surprisingly slip up in the Basketball-Bundesliga at relegation candidate s.Oliver Würzburg.

The Rhinelanders lost 90-93 (39-49) at the Lower Franconians on Wednesday and slipped back to third place in the table with a record of 15-7 wins behind leaders Bayern Munich (16-5) and Niners Chemnitz (15-6). Parker Jackson-Cartwright’s 30 points were not enough for Bonn. Würzburg (5:15) left the relegation places and is 16th in the table.

In the duel of the play-off contenders, the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg won against eighth-placed BG Göttingen with 86:79 (35:44) after a comeback in the final quarter (30:16) and consolidated sixth place. Justin Simon was the best scorer for the hosts with 21 points.

After two wins in a row, EWE Baskets Oldenburg suffered a setback in the relegation battle. The team from Lower Saxony lost to medi Bayreuth 95-111 (47-57) and is now second to last with 5-16 wins. Bayreuth is tenth in the table. Bayreuth’s Est Janari Joesaar was convincing with 24 points and eight rebounds.

In the relegation battle, the MLP Academics Heidelberg (7:14) overtook their opponents Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels (6:14) in the standings with a clear 94:70 (40:37) and are now in 13th place.
