UFL and the two-track community approach

The gameplay reveal with CR7 presentation is said to be just the beginning of the journey to the UFL release – Strikerz Inc. focuses on transparency and co-determination.

The UFL developer delivered a presentation with a bang in January: Cristiano Ronaldo crowned the ambassador marathon around Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne. In the public perception, it was easy to forget that the gameplay reveal showed very little actual gameplay.

With the CR7 announcement, Strikerz Inc. made it unmistakably clear that they want to play in the big league. A finger pointing at EA SPORTS and the FIFA series as well as a demonstration of their own network and financial clout. The January event, however, is said to be only the prelude on the way to the release planned for 2022.

“Two-Way-Street” until the release

“The final development stage of UFL is moving at high speed. Our team is committed to bringing you more unique content and exciting news,” Strikerz Inc. addressed fans – and those who might become fans – in a statement. However, the developer also wants the communication to be understood as a “two-way street”.

A two-track approach should lead to community loyalty and thus to success. On one track, UFL is driving a transparency offensive, the coming steps are to be presented in a comprehensible way. On the other track, Strikerz Inc. would like to continue to receive feedback from the players on all areas of the football simulation.

New Discord server announced

UFL wants to get supporters on board at the concept stage to give them a sense of ownership. The framework for this is to be provided by a Discord server on which communication can take place on both sides. A date for the announced sending of invitations has not yet been set, however.

At least in dealing with its followers, Strikerz Inc. seems to want to learn from some EA mistakes. The publisher has to put up with criticism time and again that it does not listen to its fans enough. Whether UFL can become dangerous to FIFA games in other respects remains to be seen.
