Sandhausen loan out Fürth’s Seufert

SV Sandhausen have strengthened their squad for the rest of the season with Nils Seufert. The midfielder comes to the Hardtwald on loan from SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

“With Nils, a player comes to us who, despite his young age, has already gained a lot of experience in the German professional leagues, especially with Arminia Bielefeld,” SVS coach Alois Schwartz is quoted as saying on the club website. Seufert, who was born in nearby Mannheim, is thus returning to his homeland: “He is a player from the region who fits us very well with his mentality.”

Seufert was trained at SV Waldhof and 1. FC Kaiserslautern and also celebrated his debut in the men’s game with the Red Devils. Via Arminia Bielefeld, his path led him to Fürth before this season. For the cloverleaf, he was in the starting eleven in his first Bundesliga match, but after that the 24-year-old only made three substitute appearances in the league and one in the cup.

“The opportunity has arisen to gain match practice here. I’m happy to be here and to give my best for the SVS in the next six months in order to achieve our goals,” said Seufert about his move to the Hardtwald.

The loan is limited until 30 June 2022. At SpVgg, Seufert, who can play several positions in midfield, still has a contract until June 2024. “We currently have a lot of competition in midfield. Nils is a young player with a lot of potential, it is now important for him to gain match practice in order to develop further,” said Fürth’s managing director Rachid Azzouzi.
