FC Barcelona will face Napoli in the intermediate round of the Europa League. The draw in Nyon showed that on Monday afternoon.
Barca finished the group stage of the Champions League in third place and have therefore been sentenced to play the intermediate round of the Europa League. In it, Real Betis, Sporting Braga, Dinamo Zagreb, Lazio, Napoli, Olympiakos, Rangers and Real Sociedad were the possible opponents. Those clubs finished the group stage of the Europa League in second place. Barca were linked to Napoli, the current number four in Serie A.
The Dutch tinted Atalanta, which concluded the group stage of the Champions League in third place, will meet a Greek opponent after the winter break. Hans Hateboer, Marten de Roon and Teun Koopmeiners will compete against Olympiakos. Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers FC is faced with a tough task: the Scots will face Donyell Malen’s Borussia Dortmund, which finished third in Ajax’s Champions League group, in the interim round.
