Ilaix Moriba left Barcelona with a lot of fanfare last summer, but still makes little impression in the service of RB Leipzig. The eighteen-year-old midfielder would even be annoyed by his star appearance and is nominated to leave in the winter.
Ronald Koeman tried to do everything he could last season to tempt Moriba to extend his expiring contract with Barcelona. Because he himself held off the boat, Koeman kept him out of his competition selection for a large part of the season. The midfielder from Guinea ultimately opted for a transfer-free departure to Leipzig, where he signed until mid-2026. However, Moriba has not yet entered Germany for more than a hundred minutes divided over six matches.
Moriba is clearly not yet in the plans at Leipzig, which recently appointed Domenico Tedesco as the successor to the fired Jesse Marsch. It is up to him to make a decision about the midfielder’s future. BILD takes into account a – temporary or otherwise – departure of Moriba. The midfielder needs playing time and may be loaned out.
According to the German newspaper, Moriba does not only make little impression on the field at Leipzig. He would act like a star within the club. As an example, BILD mentioned that Moriba had grapes delivered while he was lying on the massage table. He would therefore not be particularly good in the group of players of the Bundesliga club.
