As Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on Monday, the Foals will have to play the final two Bundesliga games of this year without Jonas Hofmann.
The latter will undergo “an arthroscopic procedure on his knee on Tuesday that cannot be postponed”, the Gladbach side said in their statement. That means the variable Hofmann, who has featured in 14 of the 15 league games so far this season, will miss his Foals’ clashes with Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night (6.30pm) and at Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Hofmann is currently Gladbach’s top scorer with seven goals in the season, and they will also have to do without captain Lars Stindl for the game against Frankfurt. Stindl received his fifth yellow card in the 1:4 defeat in Leipzig.
