Marseille must play a ghost match

Olympique Marseille have been punished for the rioting at their home match against Paris St. Germain and must now play against ES Troyes in front of a ghost crowd.

The match between OM and PSG (0:0) had been interrupted several times on 24 October, also because Paris players were pelted with  objects. The French federation has now reacted and Olympique will have to play its home match on 28 November against ES Troyes AC without spectators due to the riots.

In addition, 21 people were arrested and 17 taken into custody on the sidelines of the home match against PSG. There had also been incidents outside.

Marseille had already been punished twice this season by the league for incidents in the stands in matches against Nice and Angers. The fourth-placed team in the table was even threatened with a points deduction, and now the Stade Velodrome must remain empty for once.
