It could also be enough for Marmoush

Everyone at VfB has realised that a repeat of a Stuttgart performance without an attacker like against Bielefeld has little future. Now coach Pellegrino Matarazzo can rejoice that in addition to Silas, Omar Marmoush is also returning.

After cautious sessions at the beginning of this week, Marc Oliver Kempf (fascia injury in left thigh), Konstantinos Mavropanos (minor muscle fibre tear), Naouirou Ahamada (Achilles tendon problems) as well as Hamadi Al Ghaddioui and Roberto Massimo (both after overcoming colds) increased their participation in training. Matarazzo, however, was particularly pleased to see the progress of Silas, who looks as if he has never been away, and Marmoush.

Short appearances against Dortmund?

The Egyptian, who was last out due to a knock on his syndesmosis and sorely missed, should at least make the squad for the away game in Dortmund. With the prospect, like Silas (after his cruciate ligament injury) , of at least being fit enough for a short stint.

Chris Führich, on the other hand, will probably not make it. The newcomer from Paderborn continues to be plagued by a ligament injury in his ankle and has not yet been able to practice more intensively. Along with Al Ghaddioui, Atakan Karazor, Orel Mangala and Pascal Stenzel, the 23-year-old is one of five VfB professionals who have a BVB past. However, none of them played for BVB in the Bundesliga. In addition, there is sporting director Sven Mislintat, who was head scout at Borussia from 2006 to 2017.
