Both Dominik Szoboszlai and Amadou Haidara are out of action for their nations due to injury. In the middle of the week it will then become clear whether the two professionals will also be missing RB Leipzig next weekend.
While Dominik Szoboszlai will be unable to take part in Hungary’s last match in World Cup qualifying Group I in Poland due to muscular problems, Amadou Haidara has not featured in Mali’s two recent international matches.
The undisputed regular is suffering from ankle problems, which is why the midfielder missed the 3-0 win in Rwanda and the 1-0 win against Uganda. Without Haidara, Mali are now group winners in Season E and qualified for the third and final phase of the African World Cup qualifiers, in which the ten group winners will compete in play-offs for the five African starting places in Qatar. There, of course, the Bundesliga player should once again play a part.
In the very short term, however, RB Leipzig are hoping that both 21-year-old Szoboszlai and 23-year-old Haidara will be able to play next Saturday in the course of the 12th Erstliga matchday at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. However, there will only be certainty about this on Wednesday, when both players are expected back from their national team trips.
