Bielefeld’s point-saver Laursen: “… then we get problems”

Arminia Bielefeld are still waiting for their first win of the season. After the 1-1 draw in Augsburg, it seems clear that the team of coach Frank Kramer can hardly afford such a weak performance as in the first half on Saturday – Borussia Dortmund are the guests.

First there was the unbridled joy over the first Bundesliga goal, which at least secured a point in the basement duel with FC Augsburg and prevented the opponents from moving up in the table. However, Jacob Laursen, who rewarded his team for an improved performance, was not entirely happy. “It’s nice to help the team,” said the Danish defender, who was nevertheless not really satisfied. Because: “The first half was terrible.”

An initial performance that did not fit at all with the verbally always courageous and offensive approach of coach Frank Kramer. Bielefeld initially acted as their position in the table indicates after this 8th matchday: like a relegated team that has slipped to penultimate place.

Hopefully, Arminia recovered, fought their way into the game and in the end, albeit fortunately, at least salvaged a point. The fifth in a season that has yet to produce a win. “The boys were very critical of each other,” Kramer reported of the half-time in Augsburg. “We decided together to play a different half.” The question that arises, however: Why not just like that?

It seems clear: Arminia will hardly be able to afford 45 completely sleepy minutes against Dortmund on Saturday. “A top top team,” emphasises point-saver Laursen and warns urgently: “If we play like we did in the first half in Augbsurg, we’ll be in trouble. “
