Bredlow case gives Mangala hope

After last Thursday’s positive Corona test, Orel Mangala has now tested negative twice in a row. There is hope that Stuttgart’s midfielder, like Fabian Bredlow recently, will be able to take time off by midweek and play against Union on Sunday.

The news of the Belgian’s positive test result came as a bolt from the blue for the Swabians ahead of the tough match in Gladbach. However, the depressed mood turned around quite quickly. After the result announced on Friday, Mangala was tested again: this time negative.

Another test on Monday brought another negative result to light on Tuesday and is now fuelling hopes that Mangala will be able to clear himself without symptoms and after five days including negative test results in a row.

Ideally, this would mean that the midfielder would be able to leave his home isolation as early as Wednesday in consultation with Stuttgart’s health authorities and possibly participate in training again. Similar to Fabian Bredlow recently, who tested symptom-free and negative in succession and was given the green light to play in Gladbach.
