Jamal Musiala is FC Bayern’s shooting star and a beacon of hope for the future of German football: in its current Monday edition, kicker traces the 18-year-old’s path from talent in Fulda, Southampton and at FC Chelsea to FC Bayern – with exclusive quotes from many of his companions and from Musiala himself.
“It’s amazing how quickly everything has happened. Sometimes I need a few minutes to check it all out,” says Musiala, looking back on his turbo career that has made him a Bundesliga and national player, European Championship participant and German champion in the past twelve months.
It is the story of a footballer whose great talent was recognised and nurtured very early on, but who also displayed amazing professionalism at a very young age and continues to do so. For example, Musiala works with his private trainer Steffen Tepel twice a month. The neuro-centred training is about balance control, eye training, prevention and regeneration. Musiala also takes a serious look at the topics of nutrition and sleep.
“Before games I’m a bit nervous, on the field quite calm. “
